Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about CWFL and membership.
What is the Community Watch Forum of Liberia?
CWFL is a national volunteer organization, established in 2010, that organizes community watch structures across Liberia and works in partnership with the Liberia National Police to promote community safety and crime prevention.
Is CWFL part of the police?
No. CWFL is an independent community organization. Members are civilian volunteers who observe, report and promote safety awareness. Members do not carry weapons, make arrests or replace law enforcement.
How do I become a member?
Complete the online application form with your details and a passport photo, or visit your county coordinator. Applications are reviewed by CWFL administrators; approved members receive a unique membership ID and a QR-verified identity record.
How can I confirm that someone is a genuine CWFL member?
Every member's ID card carries a QR code. Scan it with any smartphone — or type the membership ID on our Verify page — to see the member's name, photo, position and whether their validation is current.
Does membership expire?
Yes. Membership validation is renewed periodically (normally every 12 months). The verification page always shows whether a member's validation is VALID, EXPIRED or INVALID.
Does it cost anything to join?
Membership is voluntary. Any applicable dues are communicated by your county chapter; no payment is required to submit an online application.
How does CWFL work with government and partners?
CWFL signs coordination arrangements with security institutions, ministries and county administrations, and collaborates with NGOs and international organizations on training, civic education and community safety projects.
How do I report a concern about a CWFL member?
Contact the national secretariat using the phone numbers or email on the Contact page, or reach your county coordinator. All complaints are investigated, and misconduct can lead to suspension or removal from the membership register.
